TODAY'S DOGG By Guy Gilchrist March 10, 2010

This just seemed so natural to do. I was watching Rin-Tin-Tin last night, and there ya go. I think a lot of us dog lovers say thank you everyday to The Lord for the love He has put into our lives....and so much love and devotion and truth comes from our animals.
Oh, the Cat With No Name is doing fine. She is healing very well, and should be back to her roaming ways in a week or so. She's ticked to all getout because I can't let her roam outside until she heals up. Thursday, I'm recording a song about her called "The Cat With No Name". I'll look forward to hearin' what you think down the line when it's done and good to go. She has yet to ask for a piece of the royalty. She hasn't heard about it yet, though.
Speaking of "good to go"...our new website for DOGG is almost that!! We have another day or so, and then...well...I think you'll really enjoy it. We are trying to import all our email subscribers and all that to the new site so you will have no issues coming along with us.
Did you see? 2400 fans of TODAY'S DOGG on Facebook?? WOOOOOHOOOOOOO!
Oh, thanks for all the well wishes about my first song cut of my new permanent Nashville move! The great Glenn Douglas Tubb wrote it with me, and is singing the tune. I'm so honored that Glenn, a giant in the business, writer with Johnny Cash and Hank Williams,Senior is writing and recording with me.
God bless you

Today's Dogg By Guy(I love my Grandma) Gilchrist March 9th, 2010

This post is dedicated to my Step father's Mama. I called her "Mama". She was Italian, and a Farmgirl from the old country. Very practical lady. No one ever went unfed.
She always had Pasta Fazool, Chicken LaCatetore,Sausage and Peppers...on the stove. You brought the mail...here's a sandwich. 4:30 in the morning..the paperboy brings the paper to her "front Stoop"..he gets a sandwich. She lived through the "Great Depression". She saved the family Business with her common sense. No one went hungry.
A dime was a dime. Alot of money. No credit for Mama. Cash on the barrelhead. She would go into barber shops and give pennies for the old comic books for me to read. A dime was a dime. She loved all animals. Dogs, cats.
She would be proud I am taking care of the street cat with no name...our stray here. She's lived on this street for 12 years, close as anyone can tell. Our neighbors named her  KitKat. So, that's the name of the cat with no name. Busted up, but such a sweet sweet cat. Paying for the Vet to sew her up after she got badly injured in a fight this weekend. Now, Mama would have taken her to the Vet and bought a dollars' worth of medicine...but probably sewed her up herself, Mama. She was a farm girl.
Could plow a field all by herself at 76 if we let her.
Once she got the cat home, Then she would make wonderful food and put the medicine in the food for the cat to get better.
Mama  liked Rin-Tin-Tin and Lassie, and Cowboys. She always paid the barber a little extra cent or so for the dog and cowboy comics she knew I loved so much. I loved my Mama.  She's been cooking for The Angels for over 30 years now. I drew this one though....and read a few Rinty comics...fed the cat....and missed her more than usual today.
We'll be unveiling our brand new website for TODAY'S DOGG in the next day or so! Sherry Anderson, web wizard...has been working a full week getting all the stuff moved...and adding searchable archives and all kinds of cool stuff. Her company is called Anderson Web Design, and you should hire her, too.

TODAY'S DOGG By Guy (Jesus Loves Me This I Know)Gilchrist March 8, 2010

Here's Monday morning....and a Sunday morning theme.
I am also including today our "24" cartoon with Laura Tisdel's great color! 'cause it's JACK BAUER Monday!
It's been a terrific week. I'm now working on some projects with Miss Daphne Hereford, Owner of Rin-Tin-Tin.  I got to write with amazing, amazing people this week. I wrote with Gary Hannan, the BMI Song of The Year Winner for "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off" and "Back When I Knew It All", Jimmy Payne who wrote "Woman, Woman" for Gary Puckett, and Glenn, my legendary friend, who wrote "Forsaken and Alone " with Hank Williams Sr, and "Home Of The Blues" for Johnny Cash...and "Skip A Rope". I look forward to playing you the songs. I am also having one of the songs I cowrote cut in the studio on Tuesday by it's co writer..Glenn Douglas Tubb. Glenn wrote with Johnny Cash and Hank Williams Sr. He's also had a legendary career as a singer. And , man, is it cool  to write with him....and having him record a song we wrote. I am really loving doing all of it. The writing, songs, playing drawing. Loving it all.
Please tell all your friends to subscribe to our comic. We are working really hard on creating a following and building a revenue stream with 1 out of each 5 dollars going to Animal and Humane Charities.
OH! You can hear my music, see more cartoons, tons of stuff...at http://www.guygilchristmusic.com/. We have a cool store there. Go buy stuff, willya?
See you in The Funny Papers!

TODAY'S DOGG By Guy Gilchrist March 3rd, 2010

More Doggs and Golf!
Boy...gets me itchin' get those sticks out again! Golf...Baseball....here comes Spring! I hope! Here in Nashville, it's been cold...so cold, I get the folks around here start to blaming me for bringing New England Weather down here with me. They call me a YANKEE. What a terrible thing to call a Red Sox fan....but they are saying we'll get to see 50 over the weekend. Maybe it'll stay this way and we'll start seeing some nice weather. I know so much of the country is totally snowed in! I'm sorry..don't mean to rub it in. But, I had 52 of those Connecticut Winters....and I'm about done with that shovelling...so's my ol' back!
I can't wait to play a little golf this year. Moving down south last year, I really had a messed up new schedule and didn't get to play at all. I need my time away from a board...from writing and drawing and business.  I find it meditative in a way. I bet you know what I mean. Martial Arts are the same way for me, too. You just have to be in the moment....right then....or it just doesn't work, you know?
You don't think about anything else but just what you're doing right then. It's a nice way to make the rest of the world go away for a bit. You know?
Hey! Beer Girl!
