I hope you have a wonderful New Year…and warm, loving memories of days gone by. We all have had heart ache this year, tough times…losses. lies and let-downs. But we've also been happily surprised…loved unconditionally….blown away by a coincidence….gotten a gift. I don't know if it's healthy or not. I have a hard time with forgiveness so besides asking God for help on that, I play a little game and take the hard times, the troubles, the sadness, and pretend to put them one by one into little paper bags…and then toss them into the gentle river. When the bag containing the pain or sadness or bad time rolls around the bend and out of sight….it is gone from me. I used to do this for real. I know it wasn't environmentally friendly, I suppose. But, ever since I was a kid…I would write down the "bummer" and put it in a bag and drop it into the river behind my house. I try to walk away from each year with remembering what was good…and forgetting the rest. My fervent prayer for you is that you have much to remember, and very little to forget. Send me a note telling me you got this and did so, so I know we'll stay in touch!
